Saturday, September 20th, was Montgomery County History Day. What a successful day it was! A steady stream of residents and families from Montgomery county and beyond came to Heckler Plains Farmstead to participate in all the activities noted in the Times Herald front page article.
The King of Prussia Historical Society booth was only one of many societies and exhibitors sharing Civil War history. We were pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming turnout. In fact, we ran short of nearly all our handouts! For those of you who missed out, here they are:
King of Prussia Gazette Summer 2013 Special Civil War edition which includes excerpts from Anna Holstein’s book, Three Years in Field Hospitals, and more.
KOPHS Lincoln Remembered Reprint of Ed Dybicz’s 1986 article about our Upper Merion connection with Lincoln.
KOPHS Vertern’s Day 2013 Tribute to George Bisbing including a list of Civil War Veterans buried in Christ Church (Old Swedes).
