Please join the King of Prussia Historical Society at 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 19, when Marianne Hooper Furman virtually presents via Zoom the Story of Phineas Phillips.

When driving on North Henderson Road, did you ever notice a curious concrete enclosure on the western side of the road between Robin Road and Browlie Road?
The King of Prussia Historical Society was contacted by a number of residents back in July who were very upset about the wall on the tiny cemetery on the 600 block of Henderson Rd (pictured here) being torn down. This little gravesite was on the former property of well-known Upper Merion resident Jack Brennan and was widely believed to be a current burial site. The Society discovered that the site no longer held graves, but the story of the people buried there led us down a fascinating research path.
Join us to learn about the story of lifelong Upper Merion resident Phineas Phillips and his connection to slavery as well as to some of the most famous abolitionists in American history. And finally we found the answer to the mystery of where Phineas Phillips is resting today.
