Can you identify anything in this 80 year old photo?
The Colonial Village residential development is visible at the bottom of the photo. J. Howard Mecke, a realtor and well known developer, started building Colonial Village in 1928 in Upper Merion Township. Mecke’s houses were enhanced by the addition of garages with rooms above. For the local residents, Mecke also built the Colonial Village Swimming Club, one of the early swimming clubs in Upper Merion.
