Noted artist, Harry Deuber, was born in Gulph Mills in 1937. He lived there plus King Manor for a time, but eventually relocated to Spokane, WA, in 1958. His unique style of artwork included scenes of Conshohocken and Gulph Mills. Mr. Deuber created a number of logos while working for an ad agency, including the Ziggy character for Ziegler Building
On July 4, 1846, a concert was held in one of largest chambers of Port Kennedy Cave. Several hundred people were present. This cavern was an object of considerable curiosity during the brief period it was open to visitors. Old Swedes Church (Christ Church) was dedicated June 24, 1760 in Swedesburg, replacing a simple log cabin dating to 1735. The Swedish settlers built the church on land purchased from the estate of Gunnar Rambo for eleven pounds sterling. The Roberts family has several connections to Upper Merion, in addition to a school and family cemetery. Buttonwood, the former home of Jonathan Roberts, US Senator from 1815-21, was build on family land that dates back to the 1600s.
