We recently received a package in the mail with a note “…This photo and newspapers were found amongst my mother’s papers. I would like to donate them to the historical society…” One of those was an August 20, 1980, King of Prussia Courier article, “Candlebrook – Convenience, Caring, Community.” Candlebrook was one of the first big sections in Upper Merion.
On January 11, 1993, Upper Merion became the first police department in Pennsylvania with the ability to access records in Harrisburg from computers in its patrol cars. Few police departments had the equipment because it was expensive. It cost Upper Merion $150,000 to install the computers in eleven of its patrol cars. Read the full article from the January 21,
