On April 16, 1954, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported that a group of 71 dwellings was to be built in the Candlebrook development at Signal Hill and Crossfield Rds. This was the final section of the Candlewood development project which added 120 homes to the township.
The houses were of the one and one-half story detached variety, with full basement, living room, kitchen, two semi-finished bedrooms and bath. Some will have finished upper story. The homes were equipped with hot air heat. Prices ranged from $11,600 to $12,200.
