As reported in a January 9, 1967 Times Herald article….
When Upper Merion School Directors voted to name a new school on Caley Road, Abrams, “King of Prussia Elementary School,” residents objected. They pointed out to school officials that the proposed project, formerly know as Sweetbriar, was neither in King of Prussia or near it. King of Prussia was considered the area around the King of Prussia Inn.
Letters opposing the name “King of Prussia” to the school were sent by many old families of the township including decedents of the Caley and Abrams families, early settlers of the Abrams area. The School Board reconsidered and decided to call the new school the “Caley Road Elementary School.”
