An August 11, 1966 Philadelphia Inquirer article reported on the need for additional road construction, which could take years to complete, when the Betzwood Bridge first opened. At the end, the article mentions the need to replace the old ‘Singing Bridge’ which was completed in August 2016.

The Betzwood Bridge, a recently completed four lane span over the Schulykill near Valley Forge State Park, links the Montgomery county communities of Betzwood and Port Kennedy.
It is a modern concrete structure and it looks like part of an up-to-date highway system. In a number of years it will be. Right now it connects two old fashioned two-lane roads…
But while plans are completed and construction work continues, traffic near the Betzwood Bridge is a mess…
….Another construction project in the area is the rebuilding of the old Betzwood Bridge, a few hundred feet west of the new bridge. The old span for years carried Route 363 over the Reading Co. tracks and the Schulykill.
The old bridge actually is two connected bridges – a wooden bridge over the tracks and a separate bridge over the river. The railroad bridge collapsed last fall, and both spans were closed.
The Public Utilities Commission has ordered the State Highways Department to rebuild the bridge, and after this is done, the bridge will be used by local traffic, including workers at the nearby Taylor Corp. The Reading Co. refused to rebuilt it.
