Per the current Aqua America website, water sources for Upper Merion include the Upper Merion Quarry at Salin Boulevard and DeKalb Pike along with groundwater from deep wells.
The Upper Merion Reservoir has also been referred to as the Manor Quarry and the DeKalb Quarry.
From a 2006 Water Supply Facilities Status Report prepared by the Montgomery County Planning Commission, the 2006 average daily withdrawal from the Upper Merion Well was 497,121 gallons and Upper Merion Reservoir was 5,961,140 gallons. The Upper Merion Treatment Plant had at the time a capacity of 16,000,000 gallons per day and treated water from the Upper Merion Reservoir. In 2006 there were 1,018 service connections for Upper Merion of which 906 were domestic connections.
