Upper Merion’s claim to the distinction as the “Bicentennial Township” could hardly be disputed as it proudly pointed to its historic villages connected with the American Revolution, the sacred and hallowed ground of Valley Forge, Gulph Mills, Swedesburg, Swedeland, King of Prussia and Port Kennedy.
