The Moore-Irwin House, located at 700 Moore Rd., served as quarters for General Muhlenberg during the 1777-78 encampment at Valley Forge. The 4.80 acres of the Irwin Estate’s historic three-story building, arboretum, cabin, and natural area was the former location of the Upper Merion Community and Cultural Center. After various attempts to revive the property, it remains vacant. (Source: Upper Merion’s 2004 Open Space and Environmental Resource Protection Plan and King of Prussia Historical Society)
